22nd Annual DIA Euro Meeting, Monaco

Tech observer had the priviledge of being one of the 240 exhibitors on one of the largest exhibition floors, 22nd Annual DIA Euro Meeting in Monaco. The motion of the meeting was to develop new medicines and bring them to patients is neither efficient nor effective. The debaters were- Eric Abadie, CHMP Chair and General Directorate of the French agency, AFSSAPS; Richard Bergström, Director-General, Swedish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry;  Eddie Gray, President, Pharmaceuticals Europe, GlaxoSmithKline; Thomas Lönngren, Executive Director, European Medicines Agency.

There is a risk that medical needs will no longer be fulfilled in the future if the relevant stakeholders are not included in the process. Multi-disciplinary networking opportunities was uncoparable and unparalleled. There was active participation by patient organisations in addition to the student and profesional poster sessions. Expert faculty was the star attraction in pre-conference tutorials. In all there were over 110 sessions. Theme leaders had some big names like Christelle Anquez-Traxler, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs, Manager, AESGP, Belgium; Jackie Hunter, Senior Vice President, Science & Environment Development, GlaxoSmithKline, UK; Damian O’Connell, Vice President Clinical R&D, Global Research and Development, Pfizer Ltd.,UK.
